As a hidden gem in the Engadin, the Märliweg enjoys cult status amongst young and old alike. At six lovingly designed stops along the way, the trail invites visitors to immerse themselves in the world of regional fairy tales. Rather than tearing down and rebuilding, the existing features have been enhanced and the focus on the visitor experience sharpened: impressive sculptures by local artists and large-format books at the rest stops bring the stories to life. The journey of discovery is complemented by audio stories, an interactive quiz and Mr Beaver as the narrator. The fairy-tale experience is also available as a handy, newly illustrated book at the Bever Tourist Information Centre – so the fairy tales can continue to resonate at home.
