Four storms of the century have shaped the forests in the Gurnigel area. The Gäggersteg was created from the deadwood of the last big storm “Lothar” in 1999. Ten years later, the footbridge was renewed and herewith taken the opportunity to create a new content layer. This unique wooden footbridge right through the trees in the forest reserve conveys interesting facts about the forest, wind and roots. Even the little guests, equipped with the play booklet and with the help of “Wilder Türst”, discover playfully along eight stations how the trees grow and roots look from below.
