For decades, the Föhrenwäldli has been a popular gathering place and cherished local recreation area in Schmerikon. To ensure it remains that way, the tourist office and the municipality of Schmerikon have jointly decided to redesign the playground and barbecue areas to meet the current needs of visitors.

Erlebnisplan was commissioned to develop and plan the new playground—with a special focus on nature, play value, and the quality of the experience. In close collaboration with the forestry department, part of the forest was also fenced off to give the vegetation the much-needed peace and quiet it needs to regenerate.

A highlight is the new educational area featuring Prof. Dachs, the clever forest expert. This endearing character playfully introduces children (and adults) to exciting facts about biodiversity, the forest’s role as a habitat, and its ecological balance. A heartfelt invitation to rediscover the forest ecosystem—with all your senses.
