From a war room for humans to a shelter for animals: An underground bunker from 1936 stretches beneath the enclosures of Vier Pfoten’s wildlife sanctuary TIERART, where abused and injured wild animals find a new home or back to nature. The synergy from the history of the site, together with Vier Pfoten’s core theme – rescuing animals from war & disaster zones – was transformed into a unique exhibition experience. “The Cave” transforms and changes the region, its residents and its guests – because every life counts.
