This mountain world is an Eldorado for the Graubünden heraldic animal: with around 1’800 ibexes, Pontresina is home to one of the largest ibex colonies in the Alps. In the future, this colony should be even more appreciated by both hikers and wildlife and become a clear differentiating feature for the Pontresina experience area. The result was a comprehensive development concept with the Ibex-pass as a link between coherent points of attraction and an incentive for exploring the region and mountain huts. The focus of this project was on the use and upgrading of existing structures as well as close cooperation with local experts in the sense of authentic development.
