After the flood disaster of 2021, the reconstruction in Schleiden-Gemünd should also be seen as an opportunity to reorganise the town and its (tourism) infrastructure in a sustainable and meaningful way. Erlebnisplan was commissioned to develop a holistic development concept that examines all fields of action in terms of space and offer potential, quality of experience and quality of life, attractiveness and revitalisation possibilities and identifies initial solutions. The main aim was to create a lively town centre for a vibrant community that takes into account the needs of both tourists and residents. The creation of green connections between the spa gardens and the town centre and their spatial enhancement improve the flow between the spaces and increase the quality of stay.
