Design philosophy.
“This castle shall now be min und din (mine + yours)!”, Charles the Great is said to have once proclaimed at the conclusion of peace with the king of Saxon Widukind. Minden owes its trademark “+” to this founding legend, for it has always been known as the “city with the plus”. The connecting sign became an identity-creating design element to create a place of encounter for and between guests, locals and city employees out of the citizens’ hall in Minden’s listed town hall.
