Together with the Carinthian Nockberge mountains, Salzburg’s Lungau is the youngest and largest UNESCO biosphere reserve in Austria. It was recognised in 2012 with the aim of preserving the special quality of the natural region – where people live, work and farm in harmony with nature – and promoting the development of the region together with the local population. A BIOSPHERE combines water, air and rocks into a living and diverse interplay where everything depends on and continuously influences each other. In it, all the elements that make life possible touch and penetrate each other.

Centre Lungau, a tailor-made positioning strategy was developed to serve as the basis for all subsequent phases.
